There are so many diets and weight loss plans out there, it’s really hard to locate the one that will actually work for you.

I’ve tried a number of them through the years, but as soon as I reached my goal weight, I did what most of us do: I returned to my old familiar eating habits.

This is especially common when you’ve been eating something very different from what the rest of your family is used to, and they refuse to participate in your current dieting plan. We can’t blame them, really, but it’s a lot of extra work for the one who is trying to lose the weight. Not to mention the frustration and feelings of loneliness.

Because of that, once your desired weight has been reached, there is a feeling of relief, not only by you, but from your family. “Finally! Now we can get back to normal,” they may say. Or you may say it.

But the result of that tactic is that you simply gain it all back again… and sometimes even more than you just lost. Studies have shown that once weight has been lost, and the diet plan is no longer in use, the lost weight returns much faster than it took to originally gain it and may easily be surpassed. It’s like 3 steps forward and 5 steps back.

So what are the three tricks that will help you keep it off? First, this is what they are NOT:

It’s not a new eating plan.
It’s not a specific exercise plan.
It’s not a psychological tactic, like hynosis or anything like that.
And, it’s not even a secret.

Actually, the three tricks aren’t tricky either! They are simply common sense strategies that you need to follow… strategies that have worked for other people.

When I discovered that some of my constantly dieting friends finally found a way to keep the weight gone, I wanted to know how they did it. Luckily, they were willing to share their “secret” with me.

Now I can finally do it, too. These three strategies are quite easy. And without further ado, here they are:

Most important: Eat breakfast! Again, studies have shown that people who eat breakfast are more likely to stick with a diet because they don’t feel hungry by 10 a.m. and they don’t feel deprived. Feeling deprived is possibly the most common reason someone abandons a weight loss diet.

Keep track of your stats. Stats (statistics) basically means the numbers. Those numbers may include your measurements, or your weight. Do this
every day, or you may lose sight of your goals. You can lose your motivation, too. It’s important to keep your goals on top of your mind. If you just measure or weigh yourself once a week or less, it’s very easy to forget about it. It’s also easy to think you’ve been doing so well, you deserve a little reward, such as a favorite dessert or some indulgence you aren’t really ready for.

Exercise. Sorry, but you aren’t going to keep the weight off unless you either stop eating (a dangerous approach) or work out at least a little. Our bodies are designed for movement. That’s why we have muscles and ligaments. Those are the tools of movement. If you don’t keep them in shape (use it or lose it), they will fail and go flabby, and your weight will return because you’re not burning enough calories. You can only restrict calories just so far, and for just so long. The body needs a minimum amount of energy in the form of calories just to function… just to live! If you don’t take in what you absolutely must have, it can lead to dire results… disease, disability, or even death if it goes on too long.

Now, you don’t have to get a gym membership, or even buy expensive exercise equipment. But as long as you have legs, use them! Walk, or jog, if you’re able and so inclined. Swim, if you have access to a pool. And do some arm movements. A good, albeit boring, bit of exercise is the old standby jumping jack. Doing 5 minutes of those every day isn’t really enough, but you’ll be on track to maintaining your ideal weight, and soon will feel up to doing more physically.

Controlling weight is very important, regardless of whether you are doing it for cosmetic reasons or for health reasons. When you can keep things at a healthy level, you will remain happy and healthy more easily. Although it can be difficult, talking to your doctor about the situation will give you a better chance of reaching your goals.

Talking to a professional can be embarrassing for some people, though. Few of us like to admit to having a problem with this issue. However, if you identify it, your health professional can help you make changes and offer suggestions that are tailored to your needs. Whatever your health condition, your doctor has dealt with it before, so there is no reason to feel embarrassed.

If you wish to approach your doctor about your weight situation, it is best to do so at the beginning of your appointment, rather than at the end. If your appointment is running late, your doctor may feel rushed to talk to you if there are other patients waiting. Therefore, ask your questions right from the start, or schedule another appointment, in order to discuss your concerns more fully.

If it helps you to remember, write down all of your questions before you go in for your appointment. Your doctor is probably a busy person, so having your questions ready will help assure there is time to get all of them answered. This also will ensure that you don’t forget any of your questions, because it may be a few weeks before you can make another appointment.

Some key questions you should ask include those about your personal statistics, such as, how high your cholesterol is or how much weight you need to lose to be at a normal body weight for your age and height. You should then be sure to clarify anything you don’t understand, obtaining some tips for healthy eating, helping you work out an exercise plan, and making recommendations for personal trainers or guides who can help you on your journey. Your doctor or nutritional consultant can be your best ally throughout your personal journey, as they can help you to realize all of your goals in a healthy and safe way.

Some of you may have read that the FDA has approved Stevia to be used as a food additive and it is no longer labeled as a supplement. This means that food manufacturers can use it in their foods and drinks for us to consume.

Food manufacturers must have known this would be approved for a while. Coca-cola and Pepsi had Stevia-based soft drinks on store shelves only 3 days after the FDA issued approval.

This means they have been preparing for this for a while. What does this mean to you? Is this the natural sweetener you have been waiting for that will help you lose weight fast?

The answer is no. This is not to say that Stevia, a natural sweetener, won’t help you control your caloric intake or allow you to choose a low calorie, naturally sweetened food instead of your usual fully sugared products.

What this means is, this is not a miracle product. It is just another tool you have at your disposal to succeed at dropping those extra pounds.

So basically, Stevia may end up being a great addition to your toolbox to shed fat fast, but it is just one tool. Don’t believe that it will solve all your problems. Build the rest of your toolbox and you will find that quick weight loss really is possible.

Take a look at the Carb Rotation Diet to add another tool to that toolbox.

Are you trying to lose weight? Do you have a goal you want to achieve? Maybe you have decided you need to lose 30 pounds, or perhaps 20 pounds. Whether it’s more, or less, you probably came up with this number for a reason.

Perhaps you’d like to weigh what you did in high school, or when you got married, or before the kids were born. Or maybe you just wish you could wear a smaller size clothing.

Whatever your reasons, or whatever the specific goal is, it’s a good idea to explore the numbers. Sometimes we have unrealistic goals and are trying to lose more than is healthy or safe to lose in a specified time frame.

It’s important, possibly critical, to aim for a safe, achievable number. Here are a few tips to help you calculate what that might be for you:

1. Consult with a weight loss professional, possibly your doctor. However, not all doctors are expert in this field, so ask for references if necessary. This person should help you determine things like body fat percentage, metabolic rate, muscle mass, and water requirements. If these numbers are in a healthy range, it’s even possible you don’t need to lose weight at all. Maybe all you need to do is exercise more and tone things up.

2. Examine your own eating and exercise habits, your age, background, hereditary factors, and certain conditions that could account for some “emotional eating.” Learning to deal with personal variables is important in any weight loss regimen.

3. Don’t get in a hurry. It takes time to lose weight, and trying to drop pounds too fast can put your health at great risk. Plus, a rapid loss usually is temporary. Once you are off the diet that gave you these results, the weight will return, probably more quickly than you lost it. It’s also important to accept the fact that weight is a dynamic measure and is a reflection of our lives at a particular time. If one is under stress, for example, it’s easier to gain weight and much more difficult to lose it. Work around, or through these things to get your best results.

4. Try not to model yourself after currently popular appearances. Fashion models, for example, are typically much thinner than is healthy for the average person.

5. Realize that being thin is not an answer to all of your problems. The world may try to make us feel that thin is beautiful, and that somehow we are not complete or desirable in a body that doesn’t match today’s fads or trends. But these standards are often false, leading to an unhappy outcome if we try too hard to reach them.

6. While thin can be a health risk, it’s generally thought that obesity is more so. This is why it’s important to consult with a professional who has extensive weight management knowledge if you truly need to lose very much weight. It can be a path that requires a good guide.

No matter what your weight goals are, the most important thing to realize and accept is your own worth as a person, which has nothing to do with a number.

Research has been conducted over the last few years to identify what compound present in green tea makes it a potent health drink. The scientists have found that green tea contains several antioxidants which are responsible for many of green tea’s health benefits, including weight loss benefit.

A research study by American and Swiss scientists on the weight loss benefit of green tea was concluded and the results of which were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and Urology. During the course of their study, they have found that green tea contains certain compounds that contribute to its weight loss benefit.

Lead researcher, D. Abdul Dulloo said in a press release that there are only two ways to achieve weight loss - either reduce energy intake or increase energy expenditure. Green tea, it seems, has compounds that can increase the body’s normal metabolism rate, thus giving it its weight loss benefit.

At the University of Geneva, where the study was conducted, Dr. Dulloo and his colleagues experimented on ten healthy young men. They theorized that the main contributor to green tea’s weight loss benefit is its caffeine content. To test this hypothesis on green tea’s weight loss benefit, they placed the study’s participants on a typical “Western” diet which is about forty percent fat, thirteen percent protein, and forty-seven percent carbohydrates.

Thrice everyday, the researchers measured their subjects’ energy expenditure (the measurement used in determining the number of calories burned in 24 hours) and monitored their respiration quotient to find out how well they utilized their carbohydrates, proteins, and fats.

When they interpreted the data they collected, they found out that the men receiving regular dosages of green tea extract showed a significant increase in their 24-hour energy expenditure and a reduction in their respiration quotient (which means that more fat is burned, thereby achieving maximum weight loss). On the other hand, those men who were only given caffeine or placebo with every meal showed only minimal increases in their metabolism rates.

The scientists construed that the substance catechin polyphenol present in green tea adds to its weight loss benefit. These substances in green tea may alter how the body uses the hormone norepinephrine which is responsible for increasing the metabolism rate, thus leading to weight loss.

In their conclusion, the scientists inferred that green tea owes its weight loss benefit to the presence of antioxidants and the substance catechin polyphenol. These substances help increase fat and calorie burning and optimize weight loss.

Some people love donuts. Some people love cookies. Some people love pizza. I’m guessing you love to eat something you know you shouldn’t. But a BIG mistake people make is thinking they can’t eat their favorite foods ever again if they want to keep off the belly fat.

We all know we can’t eat whatever the heck we want whenever we want it, in unlimited amounts. You’re an intelligent person. You’re completely rational. But you also want to enjoy yourself. And that’s OK!

So here are two things I want you to understand:

First is the fact you can eat your favorite foods here and there. You cannot think you’re going to spend the rest of your life without treating yourself.

Second, when you have a really sound nutritional plan in place and your eating habits get a whole lot better, well, you’re not going to want those foods nearly as much anymore either. Really. It’s true.

But here is where people have a real problem. They just don’t believe the second part. They really believe they’re going to wallow in misery the rest of their lives wishing they could devour every one of the goodies they aren’t “allowed” to have.

Here’s the thing: You have to understand that when you’re feeding your body the best possible nutrients and your body looks and feels amazing, you lose your appetite for the fatty, sugary and greasy foods. Then when you eat them, you feel like such garbage you can’t wait to get back to your healthy eating.

If you don’t believe me, try it for yourself. Get a copy of Jayson Hunter’s Carb Rotation Diet. It’s not really a diet, as much as it’s a healthy eating plan you can live with.

So what do you have to lose? Weight? Fat? Lack of energy? Sounds good to me.

Yours in health,

Dr. Peters

PS - Seriously, you’ll never want another donut again. I cannot recommend The Carb Rotation Diet enough to prove to you this works. You just need to see for yourself.

You know New Year’s resolutions don’t work. Well, maybe one in a million do. And there is a reason they don’t work. Stating out loud you are going to do this or that just doesn’t work. It doesn’t accomplish anything. Why?

Simple. Because behind that “resolution” is the complete lack of a plan. Now, I want you to think about anything significant you have achieved in your life. Close your eyes and go back to that time in your life. Think about the accomplishment.

Can you honestly tell me you achieved something so worthwhile with absolutely, positvely, NO plan? Of course not.

You don’t need a “resolution.” What you need is a commitment from yourself … and a plan.

You provide the commitment. And registered dietitian Jayson Hunter will provide the nutritional plan. (They don’t call him “America’s Trusted Weight Loss Expert” for nothing.)

His formula for rotating carbs will not only help you drop up to 15 lbs in just 30 days, but it’s also a healthy eating plan you can live with - for the rest of your life.

You don’t need a silly ‘resolution.’ You don’t need pills or potions promising miracles. You don’t need another starvation diet. You need a nutritional plan based on science that delivers rapid fat loss.

Jayson’s strategy has my full stamp of approval. Get the plan. Follow the plan. Watch the fat fall off. Simple as that. Carb Rotation Plan

Celebrities always look fabulous. Whether appearing in television or films or strutting down the red carpet during movie premiers and awards, they never cease to fascinate us with their larger than life presence. The truth is, it takes a lot of effort to look the way they do, and being the public figures they are, they cannot afford to slack off when it comes to taking care of their physical appearances. Their livelihood largely depends on how they look. Aside from the clothes, the hair and the makeup, celebrities have to take good care of their bodies.

So it is no surprise that these stars have their own secrets when it comes to staying fit and gorgeous. Their health agenda can range from extreme workouts to well-planned meals. Here are some of the diet secrets of seven women celebrities:

1. Jennifer Aniston
The star of the phenomenal television show, Friends, not only mesmerized audiences with her adorable comic sense and her famous hairstyle, she was also known for having one of the sexiest bodies in Hollywood, as she appeared on countless magazine covers. To stay trim, Jennifer follows the 40:30:30 diet method. This diet consists of:

40% Low glycemic carbohydrates
-Foods such as beans, fruits and vegetables, legumes

30% lean proteins
-Tofu, fish, chicken, turkey, beef and low fat dairy products

30% essential fats
-nuts and seeds, fish and olive oils

It is essential for every meal to contain macronutrients to attain the balance of hormones and maximum weight loss.

2. Kate Hudson
The gorgeous daughter of actress Goldie Hawn gained 60 pounds during her pregnancy, which she needed to shed quickly before starting on her next film. So she switched to a higher protein diet. She consumed high protein meals in smaller portions, and then combined this diet with an exercise program that includes weight training and cardiovascular workouts. After getting a lot of flak because of her post-pregnancy figure, Kate removed all that baby weight in only four months and has gained abdominal muscles that gained the envy of many in Hollywood.

3. Oprah Winfrey
As one of the most successful talk-show hosts in the world, there is no question that Oprah needs to maintain her physical appearance for her millions of audiences. Known as one of those celebrities who is constantly battling weight gain, she has recently toned up her figure and has never looked better by age 50, by combining a regular exercise regime and diet plan. Oprah works out five days a week, spends 30 minutes on the treadmill, and does free weights. Her eating plan consists of legumes, fish, nuts, fruits and vegetables, chicken and low fat dairy products. She limits her consumption of white sugar and flour. Oprah also credits her trim figure to her habit of not eating anything after seven in the evening.

4. Gwyneth Paltrow
A lot of people may find it hard to believe that the perpetually slim Academy award-winning actress actually needs to diet. Gwyneth actually follows a healthy eating plan that resembles Oprah’s, avoiding sugar and white flour. She usually follows a macrobiotic diet, eating foods like vegetables, brown rice, and lean meat. She also eliminated dairy from her diet, and does yoga everyday.

5. Madonna
The pop star known as the Material Girl has always flaunted a body that is to die for, and has become a true fitness paragon over the years. She keeps herself in tip-top shape wtih yoga and follows a strict diet that mostly shuns junk foods. She adopted a macrobiotic eating plan that includes organic foods rich in lean protein.

6. Claudia Schiffer
This gorgeous German supermodel eats salad and steamed vegetables for dinner and eats only fruits before the afternoon. While on location, she prefers to eat black grapes and drinks tomato juice and herbal tea.

7. Christie Brinkley
The long-time supermodel maintains her all-American good looks by being a vegetarian. She is careful not to keep junk foods of any kind inside her home, just to ensure she doesn’t eat them when cravings hit. She snacks on sweet potatoes in place of candy bars, and she adopts a liquid juice diet when she needs to slim down fast.

Celebrities are just like ordinary people. They need to maintain their figures just like anyone else, though there is more pressure on them, since they are constantly in the public eye. Ordinary folks can have celebrity-like bodies, too, and by following a sensible diet and fitness plan, we can also look red-carpet worthy.

The problem with fad diets is that their fat-reducing effect is temporary and results ultimately in quick regain of weight. What is worse is that most of these diets are harmful in many ways.

Fad diets are not as new as one might think. They date back to the mid 19th century when a London practitioner experimented with an obese client. Now, after a century and a half, fad diets have become popular among people with weight problems. Teens and young adults, especially, flock to fad diets for an answer to their weight problems.

Fad diets often promote the idea of completely cutting out carbohydrates. It is the low intake of carbs that brings about rapid weight loss. However, it is a water loss. With the loss of stored glycogen, the large amount of water stored in it is also lost and body weight drops. The fats are still there, and as the fad diets are given up, the body regains its proportion of water lost. Weight is put back on faster than it was lost.

Normally, carbohydrates remain the source of energy for work. With fad diets, the carbs may be so low that the body starts using up stored fat, breaking it down. This may appear beneficial, but in fact, it is not. In the absence of carbs, fats cannot be completely oxidized and put to work. Hence, the body feels fatigued and weak. In addition, ketones resulting from the fat breakdown accumulate in the blood and are excreted from the body by urination, causing dehydration.

Given the harmful health effects of fad diets, it is important for us to recognize and beware of such diet plans. Watch out for diets that:

· Promise quick weight loss
· Publicize before and after pictures
· Present weight-loss testimonials
· Tend to limit natural food choices
· Require a large sum of money

Fad diets may be popular, but they can hurt your body. Be careful with any diet or exercise program and ask your health professional to be sure it is safe.

I just received an article from Jon Benson, called “How To Gain Muscle And Burn Bodyfat At The Same Time.” He said I could share it with you here, on my blog.

What’s so unusual about Jon, is that he’s developed a specific strategy that does what the experts say is impossible. But he does it all the time!

According to Jon, “Every time I read an article by some doctor or expert claiming it’s ‘biologically impossible’ to gain lean muscle mass on… (a diet low in calories) I just laugh. I do more than make claims — I have proved this to be true many times. I’ve had my bodyfat hydrostatically measured during several peaks [training for an event]. In all but one I showed an increase of muscle mass and a decrease of bodyfat during a 12-16 week period.”

So, there you have it… proof it can be done. To read more details, the complete article is here:

tinyurl.com/gainmuscleburnfat

PS - If you enjoy looking at some very cool muscles, you need to go read the article! This guy is ripped!
